Manage your Wi-Fi network easily and safely

Mobility, cabling reduction and infrastructure costs are well known benefits of Wi-Fi networks. A bad or poor configuration, though, may jeopardize the safety of this kind of network. Differently from cable networks, where data streams are confined within a physical transmission mean, radio-frequency signal can hardly be completely restricted to a single room or building. This characteristic makes the signal to overflow the desired coverage area, being then available to be detected by others.

The protection of a Wireless LAN or Wi-Fi network involves the expertise in different safety technologies, which is time-consuming and often expensive.

WiNGS Wireless Gateway – WWG - integrates, in one equipment, all the resources necessary to protect and manage the access to a wireless/Wi-Fi network.

It applies also to Cable Networks, when the administrator wants to control or bill the users. It provides the complete information about time and traffic used by subscribers or customers. WWG is the perfect solution for hotels, cafés, events, convention centers and all types of public networks.

WWG features include:

  • web interface for configuration of all aspects related to network security, including the management of authorized users;
  • RADIUS server embedded, supporting IEEE 802.1x.standard. No need of previous knowledge of RADIUS protocol. All configuration is done using web interface;
  • management of digital certificates X.509, integrated to users’ data-base and RADIUS server;
  • business rules for network users’ management, allowing the issue of temporary digital certificates, valid for a certain period of time defined by administrator;
  • possibility of use of pre-existing users’ in relational data-base (via ODBC), directory service (via LDAP) or Microsoft Active Directory;
  • control of bit data rate per user;
  • log of all accesses for purposes of billing and security auditing.

WWG guarantees the safe exchange of data between these two environments: the corporate network and the internet.
